In Memory

Janet Heppes (Henry)

Janet Heppes (Henry)

Janet (Lucki) Heppes Henry passed away April 13, 2015.  She is survived by her husband, Patrick, sons Robert and Michael, and 4 grandchildren.

Lucki was such a great friend to many of us. She had a wonderful sense of humor and kept us all laughing. Forty years after graduation some of us found our way to each other and have enjoyed annual trips together every year. Lucki you will be sorely missed as we gather this year to celebrate your life. Lucki was one of my best "buds" in High School.  We have traveled together for the last 11 years on our annual trip with 4 other classmates.  We were always "Roomies" on our trips and we would giggle like 16 year olds at night as we tried to go to sleep. Lucki had breast cancer 20 years ago.  I had mine 6 years ago.  Does it ever go away?   Apparently not with everyone as hers came back with vengeance in Dec.  in her spine and hips.  Yes, it was breast cancer cells. It took her from us within 3 months.  Our trips will never be the same without her.  I tell you this "Dooper ladies".... Listen to what your body tells you and NEVER let your guard down!!!   I fly to Denver tomorrow to say a final farewell to a great gal who gave me so many fond memories.  She will be truly missed for all that knew her.

Although I never hung with you girls I do remember each and every one of you from home room, hallways, or gym.  I too still have close friends from grammar and high school and just want you to know my thoughts and prayers are with each and every one of you as you go through this loss.  My heart truly aches for you.  Friends become family which obviously you were.  You are so fortunate to have so many memories.  God Bless you All...

To Janet, Janet, Lynn, Gracie and Betty

I am so sorry for your loss of such a great friend. My sincere sympathies to you all and to her family. I can't ever remember time spent with Lucki when I wasn't laughing. Her comedic personality brought good times and  joy to everyone around her. I hope that remembering the many wonderful times with her will ease your sorrow. Fond Regards, Arlene

I would like to add a comment to all of you wonderful ladies if you dont mind.  First off, I am a three time survivor or cancer and yes, one is breast cancer.  My daughter just finished treatment for breast cancer.  I hear, in almost every case, that a woman felt something or didnt feel right but ignored it.  Please dont ignore it.    I didnt know Janet well but I did know many of you who have commented.  Please pay attention if you dont feel right about your health.  Thanks for letting me voice my thoughts.
