It was so sad for me to read sweet Loraine's name here. I have not spoken to her since 6th Grade, because I moved away to a different OP School District and I never had the pleasure of knowing her at all in inter. or high school. How unfortunate that our paths never crossed again.

I was happy to see her address in our 25th Reunion Booklet, so once I sent her a Christmas Card expressing my fond memories of her. Thank goodness I wrote telling her how much the sharing of her Culture meant to me; inviting Mudite Arums (darn, she's missing) & I to dinners in Japanese Town Sundays when Mom would pick us up from our weekends after a "Three Muscateer 6th Grade Slumber Party" on Dad's boat, which in those days was moored in the middle of Burnham harbor from a bouy. (We all 3 had our first Crushes on the Tender Driver who took us to shore for our meals when we shared a secret code of MMDB which meant: Mike, My Dream Boat. Hard to believe what a safe enviornment we all were able to experience in the Windy City way back then.

Mudite shared her Latvian Roots and dolls with us, but I remember that we were both in awe of Lorainne's beautiful collection of Japanese Dolls in Traditional Costumes. Loraine widened our tastes in helping us order in the Japanese Restaurants; I wish that i had widened my circle of friends in high school to include such a dear person. God Bless Her. Does anyone know about her adult life?

News of Loraine passing really saddens my day.  Another classmate from kindergarden through senior year. She was my date to the prom, because her boyfriend wasn't an OPRF student.  Boy was I was proud to be her date.  She and her brother were great friends.
