Linda and I were in the same Brownie troop at Emerson grade school .We maintained contact through the decades, sharing in both the happy and sad life events. There aren't many people that know you as a child, and adolescent, a newly-wed, motherhood, middle-aged, and a grand-parent! One might say we went from social "insecurity" to Social Security. Linda had great sensitivity and loved to laugh. She was taken too suddenly and i never had the chance to say good-bye. Rest in Peace my friend......

When we were in grade school at Emerson School, we "liked" each other - in those days a very powerful emotion. The patrol boys and girls always had an annual outing at the end of the year. In 1959, we went to a White Sox game at the old Comiskey Park. It was cold and there weren't many people there. Someone hit a foul ball and I scrambed to get it but someone beat me to it. It was Linda. She kept the ball. I didn't "like" her as much after that. It's amazing how seeing all the names from the past bring back memories of things we haven't thought about in 50 years or more.
