Bill and I were good friends.  His folks had a pool table in the basement, and I would go to his house to play pool and shoot the breeze.  He was really a happy-go-lucky guy and I remember how he always greeted me ... "HiTomHow ya doin"TomHow's it goinTom" in rapid fire succession!  One day I was there at his house playing pool, and he suggested we go to see a lady about two blocks away ... "Dinah will give us beer"  (we were underage at the time!).  Well, it sure sounded good to me, so we walked over there.  Needless to say, we never got the beer, but I did meet Dina's "drop dead" beautiful daughter Camille.  We dated on and off and ended up getting married (43rd anniversary coming up) in August of 1970.  We invited Bill to the local wedding reception for our son (the ceremony was in South Carolina) but got a "Cannot Attend" response from Bill.  We were disappointed, but later found out that he was suffering from esophageal cancer at the time.  I'm truly sorry he didn't get a chance to see how much happiness that "Can of Beer" expedition brought into my life.  OOPAH, Bill!

Bill and I were good friends. We shot billards at times and one time at his house we tricked his cousin. We put a speaker under his piano and I pretended that I was a great piano player. He told his cousin not to get close to me , otherwise I wouldn't play because i was very bashful and would get too nervous. The song I was prentending to play was Tchailovsky 1812 Overture. We couldn't stop laughing. Good times last forever. Tom Pope
