Ah, Harry......He and I shared a birthday  -  as well as a good friendship from 6th grade thru HS and beyond.  Harry and I spent the evening before I had to report for duty in the Army in Sep '67 out on the town at various establishments in the Chicago area....I'm sorry to say that I don't think I ever saw him again after that.   A wonderful guy with a great sense of humor and laugh.  RIP my old friend.

Like Steve, I met Harry at Lincoln School, for me that would be the 2nd grade. Harry was always a fun-loving guy with the best laugh in our class. He was the ringleader in the harmless pranks of our junior high years.  I thought he may have attended one of the early Lincoln School reunions, then passed away too soon. RIP, Harry.

Harry and I were on the football team together. Harry was a big guy , maybe 200 lbs or more. I was about 140lbs. The coach put me up aganist Harry in a practice fumble situation. The coach would toss the ball about 20 feet and Harry and I would go after the fumble. I made a big mistake. I beat Harry to the ball and he landed on my back. The ball squished between my chest and the ground. I felt my ribs move but the didn't break. Harry was a nice guy. Thanks for the memories. Tom Pope

Tom, I too was on that same team and remember Coach Verchota and "Coach" Greer and our home games out in Thatchers Woods.....I'll bet you remember our "Mud Bowl" game at Morton West followed the next week by our "Ice Bowl" game on the frozen, chopped-up-from-the-week-before field up (I think) at New Trier....Harry was a good guy and - so were you!  Hope you are well.
