Donald N. McClure of Hampshire A memorial service for Donald N. McClure, 63, will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, June 3, at the Fredrick Funeral Home, 284 Park St., Hampshire, with Pastor David Doudt officiating. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. prior to the service. Immediately following the service, a luncheon will be held at St. John Lutheran Church, 13N535 French Road, Burlington. Born Feb. 23, 1945, in Bloomington, Ill., the son of Dean and Irene (nee Sloane) McClure, he passed away Friday, May 30, 2008, at his home. Don graduated from Oak Park High School in 1963 and Illinois State University in 1967. He taught at Tefft Junior High in Streamwood for five years before entering the trades. He owned Don McClure Builders, having built many homes in the Hampshire area. He had been employed by Central School District 301 in the maintenance department since 1997. Surviving are his wife, Cheryl, of 39 years; son, Dr. Donald (Becky) McClure and daughter, Devyn McClure, both of Bartlett; grandchildren, Matt, Bailey, Megan and Katelyn McClure; brothers, Darwin (Sheryl) McClure of Danvers, Dennis (Sandy) McClure of Lancaster, Calif., and David (Colleen) McClure of Ottawa; sister, Deanelle (Ron) Schieber of Carlock; brothers-in-law, Del (Olive) Swearingen of McKinney, Texas, Gary (Pat) Dobereiner of Moline, Larry (Vicki) Dobereiner and Craig Dobereiner, both of East Moline, Bill (Kathy) Dobereiner and Jon (Sherry) Dobereiner, both of Silvis; sisters-in-law, Peggy (Tom) Bokros of East Moline and Marge Schroeder of Rock Island; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; stepmother, Catherine McClure; stepbrother, Dick Campton; stepsister, Peggy Swearingen; special uncle and aunt, Victor and Fern Ross; and mother- and father-in-law, Margaret and Alvin Dobereiner. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name may be directed to the Donald McClure Memorial Fund (to help with special projects in Don's memory), c/o Fredrick Funeral Home, P.O.
