Eddie was a cheerful, loyal friend. He was, hands down, the best hockey goalie in our class. Was a teacher in the Evanston schools for more than 20 years. He also was passionate about his Weimereiner dogs, even qualifying as a show judge. RIP, Eddie-- Mr. Goalie
And, Randy, as I recall, Eddie was definitely the best hockley goalie who couldn't skate - Right??? RIP Eddie......I can still see you on the ice at Ridgeland Commons.....
Steve: Eddie was, not uncommon among kids our age, a polio survivor who had less than full strength in one of his legs. He was not a threat to steal a base in baseball, but was an adequate lefthander on the mound. He was not going to be a scoring threat in hockey, but learned to use his trapper mitt to grab just about any shot thrown at him. And weren't those memorable days at early Ridgeland Common--getting ON the ice at midnight (all we could afford!)
Randy, you forgot to mention Eddie's baseball prowess at the plate. Wasn't it Phil Corkill who used to say that Eddie was the only one on the team who could come to the plate without a bat and still get a hit.

Photos are in Larry Bock's back yard circa 1961 or 62. Eddie is goalie and in other shot is at far right. Mr. Goalie indeed.
